SOOOO my 21st birthday has gotten off to a good start! Jenn and Jess and I went to Jerry's famous deli! I got a mojito and a havana banana split. Jenn couldn't eat the strawberry ice cream cuz she's allergic. I ordered the mojito at 11:50 and jenn explained to the waitress what was going on, so she carded me. It was cute. And it was strong but very good. Great especially after the ice cream.

So we're sitting there giggling, and then JAMES FRANCO walks in, just to continue the apparent J theme. And yes, he's just as hot in real life. This was exciting, and we giggled more. Drew from freshman year and a girl who jenn knew came in so we talked to them and kept our cool. Mostly. Then he got up and asked me to watch his bag. I was thrilled. I said yes, naturally. When he returned I told him it had been a challenging job, but bag was safe. He thanked me, as a gentleman should. All was well, then Jenn took a picture with her phone. BAD JEN! But his headphones (were huge) were on, so he didn't notice. I think.

Whatever. Between a mojito and a James Franco and some best friends and a banana split, it's been a good 62 minutes of birthday so far.

yes, Idina Menzel sang to me this weekend. As Elphaba in Wicked. I saw her live. I don't think I'll ever get over it.

Hey all! Just to add to it...but for FALL!!!

We have an apartment for next year, a studio in that adorable El Cielito brick building on Landfair and Gayley (v. close to campus, right across from the new med center). I'm in Dublin, so someone needs to fill my spot...You'd be sharing the room with a third year global studies major, and she's very nice and quiet and respectful. We prefer someone who fits the same bill...no parties allowed in the complex (it's a quiet building but right next to all the social Landfair fun -- at the end so you don't hear too much noise though). The apartment is available for $600/mo plus utilities from august 20 on (through the end of december). Dates and furnishings negotiable. Bathtub and full kitchen! It's a really cute place, very convenient for anyone who just needs a space for fall. If interested, email hboyan@ucla.edu and we can talk :)
